You will ALWAYS be able to have the two options listed below, but they result in a negative outcome to the conversation.For the last three months or so, fans of Bioware's Mass Effect series have been in a sort of limbo.

"Then you've failed humanity": With this, Shepard aggravates the Illusive Man into charging at them: take the Renegade Interrupt to shoot him down, or else you'll get Critical Mission Failure.

"But you already have": With this, Shepard successfully convinces the Illusive Man that he's indoctrinated, and he commits suicide to prevent himself from harming humanity.

Assuming you met both of the requirements detailed in the list above, you can pick the Persuasion options below: The fourth choice is what determines the end of the confrontation. If you pick even ONE of the white options on the right-hand side, you'll be locked out at the very end.

When you enter the central chamber, you'll have the climactic encounter with The Illusive Man.

Otherwise the way forward will be simple: head down the hallway full of bodies, through the door that opens, down the ramp, across the chasm, and then up into a central chamber.
